Music in the Strait Area

I have recently been involved with the music scene over the past few months in the Strait Area and I am shocked at the diverse talent we have right here. It's not that I assumed we didn't have great music here, the shocking part is the types of music and how great the talent is.

I am surpirise mostly because I have not been exposed to the music scene here and my sudden plunging into projects that are all about music in the Strait. You see, I am a computer guy and I have been a computer guy for over twenty years. About 2 years ago, Vic at Shindigs Pub in Port Hawkesbury approached me about a project he wanted to start that combined music with the internet. To make a long story short, www.shindigspub.com was created and music shows are broadcasted and re-broadcasted as webcast.

After all the technology (computer geeky stuff) was winding down, it was time to bring in the talent. I have to say now, I can't believe the variety of music here. I have watched Blues, bluegrass, Country, Pop, Rock, Folk, Celtic, etc... from amazing local artist and have yet to see a bad show. I wish I could name all the people I have seen in just a short few months we actually started the webcasting but I will tell you about one I missed. My only missed show was Cyril MacPhee on October 21st. I was able to catch the re-broadcasting of the show and it was GREAT!. He even stopped by to meet me a few days later because I couldn't make it to the show. Very classy Cyril, you're awesome

I have taken some time to post some of the shows on this website in the Video Channel section. You be the judge. Myself, I think I may have stumbled on to something pretty amazing here.
